LESSON 5 · Manners, Not Mayhem
Why Thinking Tires Them
Why does a puzzle wear a dog out? Hard problem-solving demands focus, and focus is its own kind of work.

Training is mental exercise in disguise. A few short sessions a day — teaching a sit-stay, a new trick, or a name for a toy — do double duty: they build real skills while working the mind. The dog walks away from each session with a finished job and a clear win, not just sore legs. So the daily plan isn't only miles and fetch; a little structured thinking earns its place too.
