Bladder size, not training
At eight weeks old a puppy simply cannot hold much, no matter how clever or well-trained they are. The bladder is tiny and the muscles that hold it shut are still immature. Early accidents are a plumbing limit, not a discipline problem, so the fix is more frequent trips rather than more correction.
