Why Sit Comes First
Sit is the easiest thing you will ever teach, because your dog already does it. They drop into a sit dozens of times a day on their own. You are not building a new movement from scratch — you are putting a name on one that already exists.

Sit quietly teaches impulse control. A dog holding a sit while a treat sits on the floor, while the front door swings open, or while another dog trots past has learned to do the hardest thing in their world: wait.
