Teaching the Stand

Start with your dog in a sit. Hold a treat at nose level and draw it straight forward — forward, not up. The body follows the food, the rear lifts, and the dog rises onto all four feet.

The hard part is stopping the dog from walking once they are up. If they step forward, your lure traveled too far.
