Quick Reference

When you practice, run this checklist in your head:

  • Lure forward, not up — a few inches off the nose
  • Mark the instant all four feet plant and the dog is still
  • Pay for stillness, adding a second or two at a time
  • Reset, don't correct, if the dog sits or steps off

Keep sessions short. Three clean reps beat a long, sloppy drill every time.
