LESSON 4 · Level Up: Advanced Commands

The Quiet Blueprint

Here's the whole method on one screen — two ways in, same off switch.

  1. Capture route — trigger a bark, let it happen, hold a treat to the nose, mark the silence, then name it "quiet."
  2. Speak route — first teach barking on the cue "speak," then layer "quiet" on top once the dog has control of its own voice.
  3. Stretch it — ask for longer silence and harder triggers, one small step at a time.

Pick whichever route fits your dog. Both end at the same place: alarm, then off on a word.
