LESSON 2 · Tricks That Impress

Set Up for Success

Before you lure, set the scene so the dog can actually turn.

  • Give them room — a clear circle of floor, no walls or furniture in the way.
  • Choose grippy footing. Hardwood and tile make dogs slip and hesitate; a rug or grass helps them commit.
  • Keep sessions short. A few good spins beat a long, tired one.

Good footing and space remove the friction, so your dog can focus on following the lure.
