Password Best Practices

Three habits protect almost everything:

  • Use a password manager — one of the most impactful actions; it eliminates weak and reused passwords once your accounts are migrated.
  • Make passwords long, not complex — "correct horse battery staple" beats "P@$$w0rd" because length defeats brute force far better than a few symbols.
  • Never reuse passwords — when LinkedIn was breached in 2012, attackers reused those passwords to break into unrelated accounts.
