LESSON 1 · Think Like a Mathematician

Pattern-Spot Three Things

Pick a normal day and find three situations that hide the same structure. Two to get you started: a jammed highway and a slow web server both obey queueing rules, where delay grows once arrivals outpace capacity. A spreading rumor and cooling soup both fade by exponential decay.

Now your turn. Watch a shopping line, a river bend, a chat that keeps getting cut off. Ask one question: what pushes the variable up, and what holds it back? Two systems that feel unrelated often run on one equation.
