Fractions Are Everywhere
Every time you split a check, scale a recipe, or calculate a sale price, you are using fractions. The hardest part of fractions is conceptual: understanding that 1/2 of 1/2 is 1/4, or that 3/4 is more than 2/3, requires a mental model beyond counting.

People who are fluent in fractions make better consumer decisions. They catch "30% off" markups that are already inflated. They notice that a pizza "twice the diameter" is actually four times the area. Fractions are the entry point to ratio thinking — which is most of adult math.
