LESSON 6 · Icons Who Shaped History
Around Sixty Battles, Few Defeats
Napoleon fought roughly sixty major battles across his career and lost only about seven of them. His victories at Austerlitz, Jena, and Wagram are still studied in military academies worldwide. His genius lay in processing information rapidly and concentrating force at the decisive point.

At Austerlitz in 1805, he deliberately weakened his right flank to lure the Allies forward, then split their army in two with a devastating assault through the center. It is often cited as his tactical masterpiece.
