The Hidden Costs
Globalization produced enormous wealth, but it spread that wealth unevenly within and between countries. Coastal elites thrived while inland manufacturing towns watched their factories move overseas. The gains were real, but so was the gap they left behind.

Environmental costs are equally significant. Shipping goods across oceans burns enormous fuel. Manufacturing migrated to countries with weaker environmental standards. The carbon footprint of a globalized economy is substantially larger than localized production would create.
