Orwell's Warning

George Orwell published 1984 in 1949, just months before his death from tuberculosis. The novel imagines Oceania, a superstate where the Party controls every aspect of life — thought, language, history, and even love.

The protagonist Winston Smith works at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting historical records to match the Party's ever-shifting narrative. Yesterday's ally becomes today's enemy, and every document must be altered to reflect the change.
