LESSON 3 · Live With Intention
Built for Storms
Stoicism was born in Athens around 300 BC but found its fullest expression in Rome — in the writings of a slave (Epictetus), a playwright (Seneca), and an emperor (Marcus Aurelius). Three wildly different lives, one shared insight: you cannot control what happens, only how you respond.

This is not about suppressing emotion or becoming a robot. The Stoics felt deeply — Marcus Aurelius wrote his Meditations while fighting wars and burying children. Stoicism is about directing your energy toward what you can actually change and releasing your grip on everything else.
