The Growth Paradox
Research on post-traumatic growth reveals a counterintuitive finding: many people who survive severe adversity say they would not undo the experience. Not because the suffering was good, but because they value the person who emerged from it.
This does not mean trauma is beneficial. It means humans can extract meaning from pain when given enough support and time. The growth, though, is never automatic.
