Nietzsche and Morality

Nietzsche distinguished between master morality and slave morality. Master morality calls good whatever is noble, strong, and creative. Slave morality calls good whatever is humble, obedient, and self-sacrificing.

This is not an endorsement of cruelty. His point is that moral systems have histories and power dynamics: the virtues that benefit rulers differ from those that comfort the ruled. Understanding this does not mean abandoning ethics — it means choosing your values consciously rather than inheriting them blindly.
