Manufacture Face Time

When you cannot be in the office by default, manufacture face time on purpose. Quarterly offsites and planned office visits can counterweight proximity bias. One in-person day timed around a leadership meeting can make your work more memorable than weeks of routine Slack visibility.

Camera on for first meetings, camera off later is the right default. Build the human connection early, then switch to voice-only once the relationship no longer needs faces. Calls get shorter and sharper once trust is set.
