Suggest, Do Not Prescribe

When giving feedback upward, offer observations and ask questions rather than prescribing solutions. "I wonder if shorter meetings might increase participation" respects your boss's autonomy to decide.

Upward feedback only works on a foundation of trust and demonstrated competence. If your boss does not yet trust your judgment, your feedback will be filtered through skepticism no matter how well you frame it.
