Persuasion and Manipulation

The line between the two is thinner than it feels. Persuasion gives someone good reasons and lets them choose. Manipulation hijacks the shortcuts your brain uses to decide, so you act against your own interest without realizing it.

The real test is whether the technique survives sunlight. An honest persuader can explain exactly what they are doing and why, and the argument still works. A manipulator needs you to not see the move.
