Pick Your Battles

Not every questionable decision needs to be challenged publicly. Consider: how high are the stakes? If the decision could cause harm, speak up immediately regardless of politics.

Private questioning is almost always safer and more effective. A one-on-one conversation allows the authority figure to reconsider without losing face. Send an email with questions or request a brief meeting. Frame it as strengthening the decision, not challenging the person.
