LESSON 5 · Question Everything

Your Authority-Questioning Playbook

Be the voice of reason without becoming the office troublemaker:

  • Choose your battles — question decisions with real consequences, not every minor preference
  • Lead with curiosity — "help me understand" opens doors; "that's wrong" closes them
  • Go private first — raise concerns one-on-one before escalating to a group
  • Bring data, not opinions — "the data suggests an alternative" is harder to dismiss than "I disagree"
  • Build credibility — people who question everything get tuned out; people who rarely question get heard

Knowing when to let go matters as much as knowing when to speak up.
