Allow same-day voter registration, and next thing you know, there is election fraud everywhere. Ban one type of speech, and soon all free expression is gone.

The key word is "inevitably." Some slopes genuinely are slippery — addiction often does escalate, and some policies do set precedents. The fallacy occurs when someone assumes the chain reaction without demonstrating each link. Real causal chains require evidence at every step.
