Accent Addition: Choose Your Flavor

Some speakers want to add features from a specific English variety — American smoothness, British crispness, or Australian casual flow. This is accent addition, and it is a different skill from reduction. You are not removing errors. You are adding style.

To add an accent, pick one model speaker and study their patterns: how they shape their R, where they place stress, how their pitch rises and falls. Do not mix features from multiple accents. A blended American-British accent sounds confused, not sophisticated.
