LESSON 5 · Break the Yelling Cycle

Fewer Blowups

Repair matters, but so does prevention. Most yelling follows the same arc: stress piles up all day, then one small thing tips you over. Spot your own pattern and you can interrupt it. Common precursors:

  • You are touched out and over-handled
  • You skipped a meal
  • You have been "on" all day with no break
  • You hit a fight with your partner

The goal is never zero yelling — that impossible bar just breeds shame. The goal is fewer episodes and faster repairs.
