LESSON 5 · Manage Energy, Not Time

When and Where to Nap

The ideal nap window is between 1 PM and 3 PM, during the natural post-lunch dip. Napping after 3 PM risks interfering with your nighttime sleep. You do not need a bed or darkness; a reclined chair, a couch, or your head on your desk works. Use an eye mask and earplugs if the room is bright or noisy.

Do not worry if you cannot actually fall asleep. Resting with your eyes closed for 15 minutes still helps. Even quiet rest lowers stress hormones and partly restores your attention. The attempt itself has value.
