Colors The Lens Likes

Solid blocks of strong color survive the trip to the screen; busy and washed-out ones do not. Jewel tones are the safest bet: emerald, sapphire, ruby, and deep teal stay rich even after compression squeezes the image.

Pure white is the main color to keep off camera. It blows out under most lighting and throws harsh glare next to your face, so reach for off-white, cream, or soft blue instead. The same caution applies to busy patterns the camera cannot resolve.
