Channeling the Energy

Channel nervous energy through tools the audience can actually use: purposeful gestures, clear movement, vocal variety, and a strong opening. The energy needs a job, or it spills into rushing and fidgeting.

Voice is another useful channel. Nervous energy can support vocal variety: sharper emphasis, clearer contrasts, faster excited passages followed by slower pauses. The aim is dynamic control, not pretending you feel calm.
