LESSON 6 · Build Any Speech

Your Impromptu Toolkit

Build readiness for any surprise speaking moment:

  • Memorize PREP — Point, Reason, Example, Point — and practice it on random topics a few times a week.
  • Build a story bank: collect five to ten short personal stories that illustrate common business themes.
  • Master the bridge: practice acknowledging and redirecting when you lack expertise.
  • Use the pause: when caught off guard, take a three-second beat before responding — it looks thoughtful, not lost.

Practice while driving, showering, or cooking. The best impromptu speakers aren't smarter. They're more practiced.
