Healthy Micro-Conflicts

Micro-conflicts are actually healthy when handled well. Disagreeing about a small decision and resolving it quickly teaches both parties how the other handles tension. Teams that never disagree about anything small tend to explode when something big arrives, because they have built no conflict-resolution muscle.

A temperature check works the same way. Unlike a scheduled check-in, it is spontaneous: in any low-stakes moment, ask one direct question — "How are we working together? Anything I should adjust?" — and let small frictions surface before they harden.
