LESSON 8 · Lead Every Conversation
Timing and Setting
Timing and setting make or break difficult conversations. Never deliver hard feedback publicly. Never have a difficult conversation at the end of the day when energy is low. Choose a private, neutral space. Give the other person time to process what they hear.

Ask permission when appropriate: "There is something I would like to discuss. Is now a good time?" This small gesture signals respect and gives them a moment to prepare mentally. Catching someone off guard almost always produces a worse outcome.
