LESSON 7 · Escape Toxic Patterns

The Body Remembers

Trauma is not just psychological — it is stored in the body. Even after the mind has moved on, the nervous system can keep a physical record of what happened.

Your body may react to situations that resemble past trauma even when your mind misses the connection.

A raised voice activates the same physiological cascade as the original threat. Your nervous system protects you based on past experience — but that past has been generalized, so neutral situations get treated as threats.
