LESSON 6 · The Promotion Blueprint

Handle Failure Gracefully

Not every side project succeeds — and that's fine. What matters is how you handle the outcome. Document what you learned and share it openly, before someone else writes the postmortem in their head.

Saying "Here's what we tried, what didn't work, and what I'd do differently" demonstrates maturity and learning agility. Leaders remember people who try, learn, and own the result more than those who never try.

The willingness to take smart risks and own the results — good or bad — is one of the clearest signals of leadership potential.
