The Question Shortcut
When you're too new to make declarative statements, ask strategic questions: "What's the history behind this approach?" or "Have we considered [alternative]?"
Questions let you influence direction without overstepping, and the asker gets credit for the insight it reveals. The best questions combine curiosity with observation: "I noticed we handle X differently than my last company — what drove that?" Write down your three best questions before every meeting, and you will rarely leave a room without changing how people think about the problem.
