The Moment Response

When you get shut down, breathe before speaking: "I hear you. I'd like to revisit this when you have a moment." Then ask what would change your mind? You stop defending and start learning the real objection, so "I disagree" does not have to end the conversation.

When the answer is no, do not push back yet. Mirror the objection first: "So you'd rather keep Q3 focused on X." Mirroring proves you listened and lowers tension. Sometimes the other person hears their reason out loud and clarifies it before you argue.
