Write Down the Objection

A shutdown gives you something useful: the exact reason your idea didn't land. Capture it before it fades.

Within a day, jot down four things:

  • What you proposed, in one line
  • The objection your boss actually raised
  • Who else was in the room and how they reacted
  • What you'd change to answer the concern

This turns a stinging moment into a plan. When you come back, you're not repeating the same pitch — you're answering the specific worry that stopped it.
