Your Brain is Hungry

Your brain represents about 2% of your body weight but consumes roughly 20% of your daily calories. It is the most metabolically demanding organ you have, and it runs almost entirely on glucose.

This is why skipping meals during demanding work is counterproductive. You think you are saving time, but your brain has less steady fuel. A 15-minute meal break that restores energy can produce better total output than an extra 15 minutes of impaired, foggy work.
