Turn the Dial
The most useful adjustments are the ones the audience never notices. A sudden, dramatic shift in delivery can break their trust — it signals that something went wrong.
Instead, make gradual adjustments over thirty to sixty seconds. Ease your pace up or your voice down a little at a time. People will not consciously register the change, but they will feel re-engaged. Think of it as turning a dial slightly rather than flipping a switch.
