Connection Before Direction

Before giving any instruction, connect first. Touch their shoulder. Say their name. Make eye contact. Wait for them to look at you. Then give the instruction.

Children are not mini-adults with smaller bodies. Their brains are wired for relationship first, task second. When you skip the connection step, the instruction lands on an unengaged brain. Wake the connection first, then send the request.
