LESSON 4 · Stop the Bite

Survival Guide Recap

Four habits carry the whole method:

  • Go limp, never yank — a still hand will not spark the chase instinct.
  • Lower the bar slowly — react to the hardest bites first, then any tooth pressure.
  • Enforce naps — an overtired puppy has no impulse control.
  • Offer legal chew outlets — frozen washcloths, rubber toys, bully sticks.

You are shaping the mouth, not shutting it down. A dog with real bite control is a safer dog for its whole life.
