Your Anti-Marking Plan

Marking is communication, not defiance. Answer the message, do not just punish the messenger:

• Spot the difference — a few drops on a vertical surface, not a puddle on the floor
• Consider neutering an intact male — it sharply reduces the urge in most dogs
• Use a belly band to strip the reward during retraining
• Clean every mark with enzymatic cleaner to erase the scent note
• Reward marking outdoors — redirect the instinct, never crush it
