LESSON 3 · The Perfect Puppy Schedule
A Place to Settle
Calm sticks faster when it has an address. Pick a mat or bed and put it in the room where you spend the most time.
Now funnel every calm reward to that spot. Dog drifts onto the mat and lies down? A treat appears between their paws. The mat becomes the place where good things happen quietly.
Give it a few weeks and the mat itself becomes a cue. Your dog walks over, flops down, and switches into settle mode — your new default behavior instead of the old frantic one.
