Focus on Impact, Not Intent

Never assume you know why a peer did something. Questioning intent feels accusatory between equals. Instead, focus entirely on observable impact:

  • Instead of "You did not prepare enough" → "The client had questions we could not answer on the spot"
  • Instead of "You're not pulling your weight" → "When the deliverables came in late, the whole timeline shifted"
  • Instead of "You don't care about quality" → "The last two reports had data inconsistencies that the client caught"

Impact language keeps the conversation about outcomes — territory where peers can collaborate without ego getting in the way.
