LESSON 5 · Your Visual Identity

When to Reach for Red

Red is the color that makes a room turn its head. That power cuts both ways. Worn well, it says you are confident and not to be overlooked, which is why it shines on a date, a stage, or a big pitch.

Blue plays the opposite game from red. Instead of grabbing attention, it lowers the temperature in the room. People tend to read blue as steady and easy to trust, which is exactly why it fills so many offices, uniforms, and banking logos. The trade-off: blue rarely excites anyone.
